What is one myth about job searching you’d love to bust?
Job searching should not be a full-time job. It’s easy to focus on just sending out as many applications as possible, but if you prioritize higher-impact tasks like networking and crafting quality application materials, you’ll get more bang for your buck. Work smarter, not harder!
What is one thing you wish every student knew about career planning?
You don’t have to have it all figured out right now! Each org you try, each class you take, each lab you join, etc. gives you a little more contextual information about the work that you like (or don’t like) to do. Pay attention to how you feel and enjoy the ride!

I am a freelance cellist outside of work – I play at lots of weddings and in my local community orchestra!
